We’ve all seen poker pros win thousands of dollars on TV.  What we don’t see, though, is how much discipline and skill playing casino poker games professionally takes.  It’s not all a walk in the park.  It’s a job and it’s a difficult job, at that.  That’s especially true when you consider that, in most jobs, people earn money.  People can just as easily lose money when they play online poker.

For most professional casino poker games players, it’s an eight to ten hour a day job.  Many of them play online or in casinos for at least that long, if not longer.  You only see a portion of their playing on TV from time to time.  Because of the time and the amount they spend, the rakeback plays a major role in how they do.

What is Poker Rake?  Well, the rake is a portion of the money from each hand which the game host keeps.  It’s basically a commission charged by online casino poker games websites.  It’s a bit like paying rent to play at the tables.  Although it’s usually a small amount per hand, the number of hands played quickly adds up.  That’s where rakeback comes in.

What is poker rakeback?  It’s basically what it sounds like.  It’s getting some or all of your rake fees back.  Usually, the rake per hand can be as much as around 5% of the hand amount.  Generally, though, the rake fee goes no higher than $4 per hand.
